Originarios de Rothwell, Leeds os The Pigeon Detectives apenas 4 anos depois da sua formação foram etiquetados pela NME como, "the band most likely to leap to the main stage in 2007?, após as suas actuações nos festivais locais.

Os Pigeons Detectives lançaram em Maio de 2007 o seu primeiro album "Wait For Me", que foi lançado em CD, Vinyl e Download. O album foi gravado no Outono de 2006 e foi produzido por Will jackson (Kaiser Chiefs / Embrace) e misturado por Cenzo Townshend (Snow Patrol / Kaiser Chiefs / Bloc Party) e Steve Harris ( The Automatic / U2).

O album, alcançou um fantástico 3º lugar a 11 de Abril de 2007, no "UK Top 40".
